Raiola: Ferguson called me a “t***” during Pogba negotiations

Sir Alex Ferguson labelled Mino Raiola a “t***” during negotiations over a new contract for Paul Pogba at Manchester United in 2012.

The Frenchman departed Old Trafford on a free transfer that year after failing to reach an agreement with the club and joined Juventus where he developed into one of the finest central midfielders in Europe.

Pogba rejoined the Red Devils for a world record fee in the most recent transfer window and Raiola, who was instrumental in the deal, revealed that the former United boss twice swore at him four years ago.

The transcript published by the Financial Times, as reported by Goal read: “Ferguson to Raiola: ‘I don’t talk to you if the player is not here’.

Raiola: ‘Get the player out of the locker room and sit him here’.

Pogba enters. Ferguson to Pogba: ‘You don’t want to sign this contract?

“Pogba: ‘We’re not going to sign this contract under these conditions’.

Ferguson to Raiola: ‘You’re a t***’.

“Raiola: ‘This is an offer that my chihuahuas – I have two chihuahuas – don’t sign’.

Ferguson: ‘What do you think he needs to earn?’ Raiola: ‘Not that’. Ferguson: ‘You’re a t***’.

Since returning to Old Trafford, Pogba hasn’t quite lived up to his hefty price-tag but has shown signs recently of improvements as he netted a brace in a 4-1 win over Fenerbahce in the Europa League a week ago before playing well in the second half against Manchester City in midweek.
