Harry Kane has ‘everything ready’ for a move to Real Madrid from Tottenham this summer.
Talks between the prolific striker and Los Blancos are so advanced that he has even outlined his desire to wear Luka Modric’s No 10 shirt, according to DiarioGol.
Kane recently admitted he is yet to begin negotiations on a new deal at Spurs, despite his continued excellence this season.
When asked directly whether he was in discussions over a new contract, Kane said: ‘No’. Questioned on whether talks were planned, he added: ‘Not that I know of.’
And his performances have caught the eye of Real president Florentino Perez who has earmarked the England star as a key signing.
Reports in Spain suggest discreet talks have already taken place and may already be at an advanced stage.
The 24-year-old is a boyhood Tottenham supporter but recognises the need to add trophies to the cabinet as soon as possible.
‘I’ve always said (what the club needs to do): keep progressing, keep getting better, we want to start winning trophies,’ he said.
‘That’s the aim, as long as the club keep doing that then, yeah, I’m happy here.’
And when asked about the nature of Philippe Coutinho’s £145million departure from Liverpool to Barcelona, Kane reflected that it makes sense for everyone to have the player’s wishes fulfilled.
‘I think if a player wants to go then why would you stop him? He’s not going to be in the club, he’s not going to play every game, he’s not going to put his heart on the line so…,’ he added.
Kane is being more coy than many Spurs fans would hope he would be on his future and the longer it takes to negotiate a fresh contract at the club, the higher the flames of speculation will rise in linking him with a summer move to Real.
