REPORT: Man United to complete Mkhitaryan move by end of the week

Henrikh Mkhitaryan‘s transfer to Manchester United will be completed by the end of the week, according to reports.

Borussia Dortmund confirmed last week that they have accepted a £26m offer for the Armenia international, wishing Mkhitaryan good luck in his future at Old Trafford in an official statement on the club’s website.

United fans have already started to grow impatient about the lack of movement regarding the switch, with reports initially suggesting that it could be confirmed over the weekend after Mkhitaryan allegedly jetted into Manchester on Friday.

But according to the Mirror, the 27-year-old will finally complete all formalities and put pen to paper by the end of this week.

Jose Mourinho, who will take charge of his first training session as manager on Tuesday, will make the playmaker his third signing of the summer.

Villarreal defender Eric Bailly was the Portuguese’s first acquisition before Zlatan Ibrahimovic was announced on Friday afternoon after months of speculation regarding the Swede’s future.

Mkhitaryan was integral to Dortmund’s second-place finish in the Bundesliga last season, scoring 23 goals in all competitions.

He also recorded 15 league assists having created a mighty 82 goalscoring chances for his team-mates, 38 more than second-most creative Marco Reus.

Mkhitaryan could soon be followed by Hirving Lozana, after the Mexico international’s father-in-law claimed the 20-year-old will move to Manchester United after the Rio Olympic Games.
