REVEALED: Wenger held three-hour meeting with Mbappe

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger held negotiations with Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe last month, according to reports in France.

Wenger has made no secret of his admiration for Mbappe in recent months and reiterated his desire to sign the ‘immense’ forward during a press conference in Sydney this week.

European heavyweights Real Madrid and Manchester United have also expressed a strong interest in the 18-year-old but the Gunners have not given up hope of wrapping up a deal for their target.

France Football claim Wenger held a three-hour meeting with Mbappe on June 14, the day after France’s international friendly with England in Paris.

It’s understood Wenger emphasised to Mbappe what an impact he had on a young Thierry Henry in north London and stressed that the teenager would be the focal point of Arsenal’s attack.

The north London club remain keen on signing the France international even after completing a move for Alexandre Lacazette earlier this month.

Mbappe is also firmly on Paris Saint-Germain’s radar ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.
