Ribery returns to Bayern training after thigh injury

Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery has completed his first full team training session since a thigh muscle injury sidelined him for two months.

Ribery, 32, made two appearances after returning from nine months out with an ankle problem in December, only to sustain another injury during Bayern’s 2-0 Champions League win at Dinamo Zagreb.

However, the former France international returned to training following his latest setback on Monday — two days ahead of his side’s DFB Pokal quarterfinal against second-tier side Bochum.

“We need him. We have difficult but nice months ahead of us,” Bayern winger Arjen Robben said.

“We have to be careful because the match in Bochum won’t be easy. Bochum could be playing in the top division.”

Bayern head into the Bochum clash off the back of a 0-0 draw at Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
