Ronaldo doesn’t fear facing Neymar’s PSG in Champions League

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has insisted he and his team do not fear Paris Saint-Germain in Europe.

The reigning two-time Champions League winners face the prospect of finishing second in Group H after losing away to Tottenham earlier this month, which would pit them against one of Europe’s powerhouses.

They did, however, finish second to Borussia Dortmund in the 2016-17 which didn’t stop them from going on to win the competition that year.

PSG have already qualified for the knockout rounds and in impressive fashion, too, with four wins from their four games, including a 3-0 drubbing against Bayern Munich.

But four-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo, who recently celebrated the birth of his fourth child, insists he is not scared of going head-to-head with the Ligue 1 giants.

‘We’re the defending champions, two years in a row, we have to respect that.

‘We would prefer to finish first in the group, but the most important thing first of all is qualification.’

It has been an unconvincing start to the season for both Ronaldo and Madrid.

After claiming the La Liga and Champions League titles last season, Madrid find themselves third in Spain and eight points adrift of arch-rivals Barcelona.

Ronaldo has been off the boil and is currently going through a mini goalscoring drought.
