Ronaldo’s mum sends him encouraging Tweet after poor Las Palmas display

Real Madrid winger Cristiano Ronaldo has received support from his mother after enduring a difficult time in last night’s 2-2 draw with Las Palmas.

Ronaldo wasn’t at his best in the La Liga fixture and was visibly frustrated after being substituted in the second-half.

However, his mother, Dolores Aveiro, took to Twitter to tell her son soon words of encouragement.

“Never put your head down,” she said on Twitter page alongside an image of Ronaldo looking frustrated.

The Portugal international was indeed disappointing, as demonstrated by the fact that he created just one chance while he had a sub- par shot accuracy of 33%.

Despite dropping points against Las Palmas, Real remain top of La Liga and will be hopeful of edging out Barcelona in the title race this season.

Ronaldo has made just two La Liga appearances so far this season after missing the start of the campaign through injury, and he will be seeking to have a significant impact when Real face Borussia Dortmund away in the Champions League this week.

The winger enjoyed a superb 2015/16 campaign as he helped Real to Champions League glory before he was part of the Portugal squad that won Euro 2016.

Real took the lead against Las Palmas through Marco Asensio only to be pegged back when Pedro Tana scored.

Zinedine Zidane’s team restored their advantage through Karim Benzema but the hosts secured a point after Sergio Araujo found the net.
