Sanchez reportedly tells Arsenal to make major signings or he’ll join Chelsea

Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez has reportedly told the club he’ll stay another season but leave on a free transfer to rivals
Chelsea unless they make major signings to build a side that can win the title.

The Chilean is stalling over signing a new contract with the Gunners, who have offered him £250,000 a week to remain at the Emirates Stadium, as he is still unsure over their ambition.

Sanchez has been quoted as saying he’d like to stay in London for an ambitious team, with growing speculation that Chelsea are eager to pounce for him this summer.

Still, it seems the 28-year-old is in no particular hurry to leave as he could give Arsenal one more year to match his demands on the pitch, according to the Daily Mirror.

Arsenal are not known for being big hitters in the transfer market, with no big signings of note since they signed Sanchez and Mesut Ozil in consecutive summers in 2013 and 2014.

Sanchez has had a superb season this year and is regarded as one of the best players in the world, so it is little surprise to see he is keen to get hold of the most coveted trophies.

This u-turn comes as the former Barcelona man reportedly feels it is unlikely that Arsenal will agree themselves to sell him to one of their biggest rivals.

Arsenal have sold big names such as Robin van Persie and Samir Nasri to their fellow title challengers in the recent past, but have done better at keeping hold of their stars in recent times.

Sanchez is settled in London and remains keen on Chelsea, but could now decide to wait it out and move to Stamford Bridge on a Bosman at the end of next season.
