Zinedine Zidane lined up alongside some of the world’s finest footballers during his playing days in Serie A and La Liga, however, this week the current Real Madrid manager was asked to name his all-time Premier League XI.

The former France international, who won a World Cup and European Championship with Les Bleus, retired back in 2006 after a glittering career.

Having played for the likes of Bordeaux, Juventus and Real Madrid, Zidane now manages the latter after Rafa Benitez’s sacking earlier in the season.

The Frenchman then deployed a back four which was pretty United-heavy as Gary Neville, Jaap Stam and Rio Ferdinand were joined by former Chelsea man Ashley Cole.

The midfield quartet were as exciting as they come as Zidane went with former France teammates Patrick Vieira and Claude Makelele in the middle of the park.

Down the left-hand side was another former Manchester United legend in Paul Scholes, while Steven Gerrard was deployed down the right flank after a stunning career with Liverpool.

A deadly attacking force consisting of former France striker Thierry Henry and Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo – currently managed by Zidane – made up the lethal XI.
