Super agent John Shittu explains why he’s partnering with Buruj Sports Academy

Foremost football agent John Shittu has explained why he’s chosen to go into partnership with reknowned academy Buruj Sports Academy.

Shittu said he was impressed by the academy’s performance at the English International Super Cup in Manchester in July which they emerged champions.

He: “I must commend Buruj for winning the English Super Cup competition which had teams from over 20 countries, and I was convinced about partnering with you following positive comments from Everton scout Mark Curran who was present at the tournament. I look forward to a partnership between your Academy and my company to further foster youth development and to set up interesting prospects for the talented young players in top European leagues.”

Shittu, who is the agent of Super Eagles skipper, John Mikel Obi, made this known at a meeting in his office, Global Links Sports Entertainment and Media Company Limited in Ikoyi, Lagos with the Chief Executive Officer of Buruj Sports Academy Waheed Buruj Salaudeen on Wednesday.

Also present at the meeting was Oluwaseun Olayiwola and Jimi Oseni, officials of Global Links Sports Entertainment and Media Company Limited in Ikoyi.

The highly connected player agent also praised Buruj for infusing football and education together citing examples of the 1985 Golden Eaglets squad who had nothing to fall back on after their playing career ended and reiterated the need for a concrete structure for the sake of continuity in terms of the success achieved.

In his own comment, Buruj CEO, Salaudeen thanked Shittu for deciding to be of help to the academy. Salaudeen stated that he is confident that it is a partnership that will yield great things for both parties.

As part of the partnership deal, the academy has agreed to release five players to Shittu to manage. The five players are Chinonso Nazareth Dim (18 years, midfielder/forward), Adam Babajide Ilelaboye (18 years, defender), Noah Abolaji Salaudeen (15 years, attacker), Ignatious Akuba (17 years, defender/left-winger) and Olawale Samson Oladipupo (18 years, attacker).

Salaudeen and Akuba are already in Borehamwood FC Youth team after undergoing successful trial following their success with Buruj at the English International Super Cup.
