Tammy Abraham ready to leave Chelsea to ensure career progression

Chelsea youngster Tammy Abraham has admitted he may have to quit the club to ensure his career progresses as planned.

The England Under-21 striker has scored 12 goals in 20 games on loan at Bristol City this season, but knows that form won’t guarantee him game time when he returns to west London.

Chelsea rate Abraham highly, believing him to be one of the finest talents in their youth system, but Abraham his career targets that might not come to fruition if he stays at Stamford Bridge.

“In three years I want to be playing at the top level, at whichever team I’m at. I just want to be one of the best in the Premier League, scoring goals,” he said.

Abraham’s performances at Ashton Gate will ensure that, should he decide to quit Chelsea in the summer, he will have plenty of suitors.

“I’m not too surprised with how it’s gone this season because I know my ability and I’m confident in what I can do,” he added.

“Scoring goals is what I love and it gives me that confidence every time I hit the net.

“I knew what I was going out on loan for when the deal was agreed [with Bristol City] and I had to get into the right mentality.

“I’m playing men’s football now and just needed to adapt to the situation. Luckily I’ve been doing that. I’ve been performing on the pitch, and giving my all.”
