Terry refuses to rule out Chinese Super League switch

John Terry has refused to rule out a move to China – but insists he would love to stay at Chelsea.

The Blues captain is out of contract in the summer, having barely featured under Antonio Conte this term.

Terry, 36, has had an injury-plagued campaign with his last appearance in the Premier League coming way back in November.

He has no plans to hang up his boots just yet and has been linked with a blockbuster move to China.

And while Terry hopes to stay at Stamford Bridge, he won’t rule out a switch to the Far East.

The former England skipper was speaking on ITV show Play To The Whistle, starring alongside former teammate Frank Lampard.

Asked if he would consider a move, Terry remained coy before adding: “I’m not sure. For me, I want to stay at Chelsea.

Earlier in his Chelsea career, Terry was heavily linked with a move to Man City and admitted there was an offer on the table.

However, he insisted he “never” considered a move to the Etihad.

“I spoke to Roman [Abramovich] at the time and told him I want to stay. Manchester City made an offer.

“It gives you bargaining power to go in and renegotiate a contract.”
