Unbeaten in 33 games yet Laurent Blanc still asks for PSG improvement

His team may have broken a Ligue 1 record, but Laurent Blanc wants to see more from Paris Saint-Germain.

Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc has urged his team to improve despite their record-breaking Ligue 1 run.

Edinson Cavani, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Layvin Kurzawa were on the scoresheet as PSG claimed a 3-1 win over Lorient on Wednesday to extend their unbeaten league run to 33 games – a Ligue 1 record.

Despite his side’s win, and 24-point lead atop the table, Blanc said he wanted to see better from PSG.

“It wasn’t a great match, but we made a lot of changes from the side that played against Saint-Etienne and the players are starting to feel the fatigue,” he said.

“Despite that, I think we deserved to win. We won, and we set a new record for 33 matches without defeat, but we will have to improve for the upcoming matches.”

Cavani’s sixth-minute opener had been cancelled out by Raphael Guerreiro before Kurzawa set up Ibrahimovic and volleyed in a goal of his own to see PSG to yet another win.
