Victor Moses: I can feel the love of the Chelsea fans this season

Victor Moses expressed his gratitude to the Chelsea fans following their support for him this season, revealing he has “respect and love” for them as well.

Moses first arrived at Stamford Bridge back in 2012 from Wigan Athletic, but due to a lack of game time found himself on loan at Liverpool a year later. Further spells at Stoke City and West Ham United would follow, with some speculating the Nigerian international didn’t have a future in west London.

However that all changed with the arrival of Antonio Conte this summer, as he brought Moses in from the cold and integrated him into his first-team. The 25-year-old has now established himself as one of Chelsea’s most important players this season, enhanced by their recent change in formation.

Conte has reverted to a 3-4-3 system in the last few weeks with Moses playing at wing-back, combining his attacking attributes with a surprising defensive discipline. Those performances have earned praise from Chelsea’s fans, and he was quick to reciprocate the feelings of goodwill.

“I really appreciate the support of the fans as well,” Moses told the club’s official website. “From the very first day I came here they have been great with me. I can tell the love they have for me and at the same time I have got a huge amount of respect and love for them as well.

“I will keep doing my best for them to make sure we win as many games as we can. The whole team wants to do well for the fans and make them happy, and we are going to do that this season.”

The wide-man has scored two goals and created seven chances in nine Premier League appearances this term, averaging three defensive actions-per-game, as Conte’s men sit fourth on 22 points, one behind leaders Manchester City.

Next up for them is a home clash with Everton on Saturday ahead of the next international break.
