Vidal reveals Bayern have asked him about Alexis Sanchez

Bayern Munich’s Chilean star Arturo Vidal has told his club’s hierarchy that they should be doing everything they can to sign his compatriot Alexis Sanchez.

Sanchez has been in fine form for Arsenal this season, leading the club’s scoring charts with 24 Premier League goals.

But with only one year left on his contract with the club the Chile star has been linked with several of Europe’s top clubs, and Vidal admitted he has told Bayern to go all out to buy his international team-mate.

‘Bayern have asked me about Alexis and I’ve always told them that he is the player who should come here,’ the midfielder told Spanish newspaper Sport.

‘I would like Alexis at Bayern. He is doing well at Arsenal but I think he has to take a step up and fight with the best in the world. He needs to play in a big club like us. Arsenal is not big.

Sanchez scored as Arsenal beat Everton on the final day of the Premier League season, but it wasn’t enough to earn the Gunners Champions League football.

And Vidal says that, and his contract situation, make it an ideal time for the German champions to get their man.

‘He still has one year on his contract,’ added Vidal. ‘Everybody wants him because it’s easier now than if he had three years left.

‘I would like him very much. He is a very good player, he has a lot of quality and he is young. We hope he will be able to come here because if he comes he will show his quality.’
