Watford striker Troy Deeney could be in hot water after raising his middle fingers while celebrating scoring the opening goal against Chelsea on Monday night.
The Hornets were awarded a 42nd-minute penalty after Gerard Deulofeu was brought down by Thibaut Courtois before Deeney stepped up to fired his side ahead.
The 29-year-old was jeered by Chelsea fans as he prepared to take the penalty but, once he had converted from 12 yards, ran off the other way and made the gesture to the crowd.
Deeney’s goal compounded Chelsea’s first-half misery as Antonio Conte’s side also lost midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko to a red card.
It did not last long though as star man Eden Hazard brought them level with 10 minutes remaining, curling in a beauty from distance.
Daryl Janmaat put Watford back in front just moments later though with an emphatic run and finish before Deulofeu added a third in the 87th minute and Roberto Pereyra wrapped things up with a fourth.
Tottenham playmaker Dele Alli found himself embroiled in trouble when he made a similar gesture while playing for England.
Alli raised his middle finger during England’s 2-1 win over Slovenia last September and FIFA ruled that Alli’s behaviour was ‘offensive and unsporting’.
The 21-year-old was subsequently hit with a one-match ban and a £3,800 fine by football’s governing body.
