Wenger says Arsenal has no plans for January transfer window

Arsene Wenger has explained Arsenal‘s plans – or lack of – for the January transfer window.

The Gunners have been given a boost, with both Aaron Ramsey and Danny Welbeck are returning to training ahead of the side’s clash with West Brom at the Emirates on Boxing Day.

Wenger has been linked with a number of players in the lead-up to January but it appears Wenger now is happy with the quality and depth of his squad for the rest of the campaign.

‘Of course, because we have [Lucas] Perez, [Olivier] Giroud, [Danny] Welbeck, [Theo] Walcott, [Alex] Oxlade-Chamberlain and we have plenty of options offensively,’ Wenger said at his Friday press conference.

‘Defensively, we are not in the need at the moment.’

Wenger went on to explain the benefits of Ramsey’s return to the first-team going into the new year.

He added: ‘Ramsey’s back and you know his strengths. He’s efficient offensively, has a high level of activity and is a complete box-to-box player gives us options in the team when he plays.’
