Zidane’s sons set for promotion to Madrid first-team

Real Madrid clearly runs in the family for Zinedine Zidane, and the coach is set to be joined by his son Enzo at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

The midfielder, 21, has been included in the European champions’ squad for their pre-season tour of the United States, where he could make a first senior appearance in a Los Blancos shirt in the International Champions Cup.

It will not be the first time he has worked with Real’s first-team after appearing in a series of training sessions during the 2015/16 season.

He was also influential as captain of Real’s Castilla side as they narrowly missed out on promotion to the Segunda Division in the previous campaign.

Zidane’s other son Luca will follow in his brother’s footsteps by joining the club’s reserve team as a member of the Juvenil A squad.

But the possibility of the 18-year-old joining Enzo and his father in North America has not been discounted as Keylor Navas’ recovery from foot surgery threatens to see him potentially missing the opening days of the tour.
