2016/17 Premier League fixtures: Liverpool face Arsenal and Tottenham in their first two away games

Liverpool‘s Premier League fixtures for the 2016/17 season have been released ahead of Jurgen Klopp’s first campaign in charge and first up is a trip to Arsenal.

The Reds endured a turbulent 2015/16 season after the sacking of Brendan Rodgers in October 2015 and arrival of Klopp weeks later.

The German tactician rejuvenated his squad and led them to two cup finals in his seven months at the club, although they both resulted in defeat.

However, Liverpool fans are certainly excited for the new season and after the Premier League fixtures were released, that anticipation will certainly have gone up a notch.

Klopp’s side open up their Premier League season with a game against Arsenal at the Emirates, as the Reds yet again start the campaign with an away fixture.

The Reds’ most notable game against Manchester United will take place on October 15 at Anfield, while the Merseyside derbies take place on December 17 and April 1.

Liverpool finished eighth in the Premier League this season under Klopp, but the 48-year-old’s arrival has certainly lifted the spirits around the club and many are excited at a full season under his stewardship.

Liverpool will also not have the rigours of European football to handle this season, which reaped the dividends during the 2013/14 season when a similar thing happened and they in turn came agonisingly close to winning the Premier League.
