Gernot Rohr has explained how the Super Eagles avenged the shock first leg defeat to the Central African Republic.
In the reverse fixture played in Douala, Cameroon, the Eagles defeated their hosts 2-0, to get their campaign back on track.
First half goals from Leon Balogun and Victor Osimhen sealed the Eagles’ second away win in the qualifiers.

And speaking on NFF TV, Rohr said:”It was good reaction from my team. We lost the other day very unlucky, the last minute so everybody wanted to take revenge. They did it very well we could have scored a third or fourth goal.
“We change the system, we played with three at the back and I think it helped us and also the leadership of Musa to win this game.
“It was not easy to beat Central African Republic, we saw it. They made a lot of fouls but fortunately we don’t have any big injury now we can prepare for the next games in November with calmness and I hope everything will be fine at the end of the day.”
He went on to thank Nigerians for their continued support for the team.
He added:”Nobody was in the stadium but our fans who watched on TV thanks for your support all the time. We have a young team that can make mistakes like it happened the other day but they never give up.”
The Eagles next game in the qualifiers is away to Liberia on November 11.
