[PHOTOS] Romantic De Gea celebrates girlfriend Edurne Garcia, who’s five years older, on her birthday

David de Gea may not have much to smile about on the pitch of late but he had every reason to celebrate on Tuesday night.
The Manchester United goalkeeper hit the town to celebrate long-term girlfriend Edurne Garcia’s 30th birthday, with the couple enjoying a meal at the city centre’s Australasia restaurant.

De Gea and his Spanish singer girlfriend were pictured making their way to the swanky Manchester eatery before toasting her birthday with a candle-lit cake.
Before entering the restaurant, it appeared they made a short stop at a local Tesco to purchase a birthday treat – with a male friend walking behind the couple carrying what looked like a cake.

And Garcia appeared to be delighted with her edible present after taking to Instagram to pose for a picture while also thanking her followers for their well wishes.
Alongside the picture of her cake, the 30-year-old captioned the post: ‘Thank you so much for all the congratulations!!! You have made this day even more special!!!’
Earlier in the day, former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper De Gea took to the social media platform to wish his long-term partner a happy birthday.

De Gea, who has been one of the few impressive performers for United this season, captioned his snap: ‘Nobody will make me laugh if it’s not your laughter … Happy Birthday Love! I love you!’
And it seems likes De Gea needs laughter away from the pitch following United’s struggles under Louis van Gaal this season.
United are yet to win in December, having lost their last two Premier League matches and they were also knocked out of the Champions League group stages.
The Red Devils are preparing for a tricky festive period where they travel to Stoke on Boxing Day before hosting Chelsea and Swansea at Old Trafford.
