Sadio Mane is an injury doubt for Liverpool’s clash with Burnley this weekend.
Mane, 24, has impressed at Anfield since his summer move from Southampton, and played a key role in the weekend win over Arsenal, scoring the Reds fourth with a stunning solo effort.
But the Senegalese forward, signed in a £30million deal, was taken to hospital after training on Wednesday for scans on a shoulder problem.
Mane sustained the injury in a collision during the morning session at the club’s Melwood training base, and left with a physio, taken immediately to The Spire Hospital.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp and the club’s medical staff are waiting on scan results at the south Liverpool facility.
Mane arrived at Anfield after 25 goals in 75 games for Southampton, after being earmarked by Klopp as the man to add extra thrust to his Liverpool attack.
His move to Merseyside was the culmination of a four-year chase for Klopp, who had first scouted the player during his time with Red Bull Salzburg while Borussia Dortmund manager.
