Joe Hart has been given permission to leave the England squad in order to complete a move to Italian club Torino.
The 29-year-old has told City that he wishes to move to Turin after Sunderland decided not to follow up their interest.
Torino’s private jet is picking Hart up from Manchester on Tuesday with the Italian side agreeing to pay around £55,000 of his current £135,000-a-week salary.
Agent Jonathan Barnett told Tuttosport: ‘Yes, Joe Hart will play with Torino – It’s done.
‘The player said yes and also Man City gave their assent. Tomorrow [Tuesday] Hart will undergo medicals in Turin.’
Torino have confirmed their Hart, but are keeping other options in mind should a transfer fail to materialise.
Torino sporting director Gianluca Petrachi has set out his stall by revealing the club are in the market for a goalkeeper.
“The goalkeeper is an idea we wanted to follow,” he is quoted as telling Sky Sport Italia.
“If it’s Hart, then good, otherwise we will certainly be doing something in the market for that role.”
Many top clubs in England have not shown any inclination to make a move with Everton boss Ronald Koeman saying he had ‘no interest’ in Hart.
Napoli were interested but Hart has opted to join Torino who were preparing a private jet for the England No 1.
With a lack of goalkeeping positions available at top European clubs, Hart will have to either move to a less glamorous club or stay at City and fight for his place with new signing Claudio Bravo and Willy Caballero.
Hart has so far been dropped to the bench in City’s first three Premier League games against Sunderland, Stoke and West Ham.
England manager Sam Allardyce had agreed to give players 48 hours to resolve any transfers before rejoining his squad ahead of the World Cup qualifier against Slovakia on Sunday.
City will continue to trim their squad over the next 24 hours as Stoke City and West Ham discuss a potential loan for
Wilfried Bony while Sevilla have expressed late interest in taking Samir Nasri on loan. The France international had been poised to travel to Besiktas.
