Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner on a free transfer, with the Danish international signing a two-year deal.
Bendtner was released by Bundesliga club Wolfsburg earlier this summer with his contract – that was set to run out next year – cancelled with immediate effect.
It left him scouring Europe for a new club on the eve of the new season but he has now found his new destination with a return to England.
The former Arsenal academy graduate has signed a two-year deal with Championship club Nottingham Forest as he bids to reignite his career in England 11 years since arriving in the Premier League.
Club owner and chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi, 47, confirmed the news on his Twitter account on Wednesday morning.

According to Danish media outlet Ekstra Bladet, Bendtner has taken a big cut from the salary he earned at Wolfsburg as Forest will now hand him around £25,000-a-week.
The 28-year-old joins Forest who face his former club, Arsenal, in the next round of the EFL Cup on September 20, meaning there is every chance Bendtner will face his old side at the City Ground.
The Dane underwent loan spells at Birmingham City, Sunderland and Juventus before leaving Arsenal for good in 2014.
Bendther scored 24 Premier League goals in 108 appearances for Arsenal and only managed three Bundesliga strikes in 31 games for Wolfsburg.
