Ronaldo says he wants Coutinho at Real Madrid

Brazil legend Ronaldo says he’d love to see Liverpool star and fellow countryman Philippe Coutinho make the transfer to Real Madrid.

The former striker is a big fan of Coutinho after his success in the Premier League, and has talked up the idea of him switching to the Bernabeu in the future.

The Reds playmaker, 24, has long been linked with a number of top clubs around Europe after his dazzling performances at Anfield, and will certainly continue to attract interest if he maintains his current form.

Speaking with Onda Cero about a player he could sign for his former club, Ronaldo said: ‘I would like to see Coutinho at Real Madrid, the Liverpool player.’

The 40-year-old, who played for both Real Madrid and Barcelona, continued to show clearly where his loyalties lie now as he added that he’d pick Cristiano Ronaldo over any of Barca’s famed ‘MSN’ front three of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.

‘It is so difficult to choose just one as the best,’ he said. ‘They are very, very good. At the moment I will choose Cristiano as he is playing for Real Madrid.

‘But we cannot forget how good Messi and Neymar are, and we must respect these players for the entertainment they bring us.’
