Arsenal starlet Alex Iwobi pulled off an impressive piece of skill in Nigeria’s World Cup qualifier win against Algeria on Saturday.
The 20-year-old was handed his eighth cap by the Super Eagles and started on the left-hand side of a front three made up of Premier League players including Chelsea’s Victor Moses and Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho.
Goals from Moses as well as his Blues teammate John Obi Mikel had the home side a 2-0 lead going into the break but the standout moment of the half came when Iwobi produced what is known as a ‘rainbow flick’ to leave an Algerian defender rather embarrassed.

Chelsea duo Moses and Mikel starred as Nigeria moved into full control of their World Cup qualifying group with a 3-1 home victory over Algeria in Uyo.
Moses and Mikel were on target in the first half, before Nabil Bentaleb’s goal after the break gave Algeria hope of a comeback.
But Moses scored his second in the final moments as Gernot Rohr’s side won their second straight game in the final stage of CAF qualification.
The win puts the Super Eagles four points clear of nearest challengers Cameroon in Group B, with Algeria and Zambia a further one behind. Only the pool winners will make it to Russia in 2018.
As for Iwobi, his confidence doesn’t appear to have been shaken despite his below-par performance in the north London derby draw last weekend – a game in which he missed a sitter from close range.
