Cristiano Ronaldo gave the perfect response to alleged homophobic abuse from Koke during the derby between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid this weekend.
The 31-year-old scored a hat-trick on the night to condemn Atletico to a 3-0 defeat, but the rivalry between the two clubs turned sour due to this personal war of words between the two players.
Ronaldo has had plenty to gloat about this year after winning the Champions League and Euro 2016, and he gave Koke an earful of it after the Spanish midfielder is said to have called him a ‘f*ggot’.
According to Cadena Cope, the Portuguese forward then responded: ‘A f*ggot
with a lot of money, you b*****d.’
Ronaldo then went on to question Atletico’s bottle for losing the Champions League final to Real for the second time in three years as this argument continued in the tunnel after the game.
Real left-back Marcelo also got involved, and reportedly taunted Atletico defender Juanfran for his decisive penalty miss in that final in Milan.
In the heat of a Madrid derby, things get said.
In the case of Koke and Ronaldo , what got said wasn’t particularly friendly.
Frustrated at being doused by Real Madrid at home, Koke called Ronaldo a “faggot” as the two butted heads – according to radio station Cadena Ser.
But Ronaldo, who also ended the game with a match-winning hat-trick, had the last laugh and gave the most Cristiano Ronaldo rebuttal possible.
