Arsenal are preparing to make Alexis Sanchez a contract offer in excess of £200,000 a week in a bid to ensure the striker remains in north London for the foreseeable future.
Sanchez’s current deal with the Gunners is due to expire at the end of next season and the club are keen to get the Chilean to agree improved terms in the near future.
Reports have indicated that clubs in China are willing to offer Sanchez around £400,000-a-week to move to Asia and talks with Arsenal over his new contract offer have stalled.
However according to the Daily Mail Arsenal are finally prepared to move past £200k a week in order to secure Sanchez to a new deal, with Arsenal hoping the 27-year-old is not purely motivated by financial gain, and wants to remain in the Premier League.
Such a deal would take Sanchez above the reported £140k currently earned by Mesut Ozil and make him the club’s highest paid player, although with Ozil also negotiating new terms that status could change in the coming weeks and months.
Sanchez has been in sensational form this season for Arsenal, scoring 12 goals in the Premier League.
