John Terry has paid an emotional tribute to departed Chelsea legend Branislav Ivanovic.
The defender left Chelsea on transfer deadline day to join Zenit and end a nine-year stay with the London club.
Terry and Ivanovic played in defence together and helped Chelsea win every major piece of silverware in eight seasons playing together.
Absolutely gutted to see Brana leave Chelsea,’ said Terry on Instagram.
‘An unbelievable defender for us over the years and a great and big character and presence in the dressing room.
‘Good Luck mate. Won everything at Chelsea and a proper legend.’
Terry is also rumoured to be heading for his final months at Chelsea with the defender currently struggling to break back into Antonio Conte’s starting eleven.
Ivanovic left Chelsea in search of first-team action, but Terry said he hopes he does not play again this season.
