Two times coach of the Super Eagles Samson Siasia has applied for the vacant managerial job of the coach of the national team of South Africa, according to reports.
According to Soccer Laduma, the Rio 2016 bronze medal winning coach has applied for the vacant job of the head coach of South Africa, who are without a substantive coach since the axing of Shakes Mashaba.
Soccer Laduma also claimed that his application for the job has been confirmed by Nico Mbonani,a football agent.
South Africa are in the same group with Nigeria in the race to be at the 2019 Africa Cup of nations, and Siasia who was in charge when Nigeria’s hope of qualifying for the ongoing Africa Cup of nations could lead them if he is employed by South Africa Football Association (SAFA).
The 49 year old who also lead the Nigeria U23 to a silver medal finish at the Olympic games in Beijing in 2008 has also applied for the coaching job of Orlando Pirates.
Pirates are also in the market for a coach to fill the position left by Muhsin Ertugal, who resigned in November last year, although they are presently been handled by Augusto Palacios on interim basis.
