Mbappe refuses to rule out a move to Real Madrid

Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe has refused to rule out a move to Real Madrid this summer amid reports the Spanish giants are interested in bringing him to the Bernabeu.

The French starlet has enjoyed a scintillating breakthrough season in Ligue 1, a rise to prominence which has not gone unnoticed by Europe’s elite.

Real president Florentino Perez has flirted with the idea of linking the 18-year-old up with his compatriot Karim Benzema. And Mbappe did little to play down the rumours when asked about a potential move.

‘Today, I am at Monaco. Real Madrid? We will see after,’ Mbappe said following France’s 2-0 defeat by Spain on Tuesday.

‘You should go to Real Madrid when you are at the top of your game. I’m not at the top of my game. But anything is possible.’

The forward has scored 19 goals this season and possesses the pace and finishing which brought about comparisons with French legend Thierry Henry.

Henry made the switch from Arsenal to Barcelona back in 2007, but Mbappe reiterated the notion that anything is possible when it comes to making a move to Barca’s fiercest rivals.

‘For now I am a player of Monaco, but of course it is a great team Real Madrid.

‘[Karim] Benzema is a great player. [Head coach Zinedine] Zidane is another great.

‘I’m focused on Monaco and after we will see.’
