Sergio Ramos open to becoming Real Madrid president

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has revealed that he is open to taking on a presidential role within the club in the future.

The centre-back has been at the club since 2005 and has a strong connection with the Real supporters.

However, given that he is only 31, Ramos admitted that he still has time in which to decide his future.

Ramos had a Q&A with fans on Twitter to celebrate reaching 10 million followers.

And when asked if he would like to become Madrid president, Ramos, replied: “Ha ha ha ha, you never know, but at the moment I do not see myself [as president].

“Here is still a lot of time and there is nothing decided but it is an option.

“There are a few seasons left, but… I would love to retire in Madrid … We’ll see.”

Ramos remains a key player for Real – he has averaged seven defensive actions per game this season in La Liga, while he is composed on the ball and has an average pass accuracy of 89%.

However, the Spain international does have a tendency to lose his discipline at times and was sent off in the defeat to
Barcelona last weekend.

Real are currently second in the La Liga table but they are level on points with Barcelona and have a game in hand on their rivals.
