Manchester United are in advanced talks with Real Madrid over a summer deal for James Rodriguez, reports in France say.
Rodriguez is being tipped to leave the La Liga giants during the upcoming window after a frustrating season – the Colombian started only 13 league games and was often overlooked by manager Zinedine Zidane.
The 25-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford as Jose Mourinho looks to oversee a substantial spending spree.
And according to French radio station RMC, Rodriguez’s representatives are in contact with United and Inter Milan over a summer switch, while PSG continue to monitor his situation.
It is claimed Real are now ready to sell Rodriguez, who joined from Monaco in 2014, and hope to gain around £61million for his services.
United are also being linked with moves for Bayern star Renato Sanchez and Benfica’s Victor Lindelof but Mourinho insists he will play no further part in the club’s transfer plans.
‘I got fed up and tired of football before the last day,’ Mourinho told Mais Futebol.
‘I promised that they would not see me in football stadiums, and I stopped negotiating for players and being worried.
‘I gave my list to the CEO in April and he has until August 31st to give me what I want, or not.’
