Lorenzo Insigne‘s agent has stated that the £45 million bid that Chelsea are rumoured to be preparing for his client would be too low to secure a deal for the Napoli winger.
Insigne enjoyed a fine campaign at Napoli and has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea, where he is highly rated by manager Antonio Conte.
However, it appears that the Blues will have to up their offer significantly if they are to stand a chance of securing a deal for the 26-year-old.
Monica told Radio Kiss Kiss (via goal): “I would start by saying the offer reported in The Sun would be low and he has always been in the sights of many clubs.
“The priority for Lorenzo, though, is to be wearing the Napoli shirt and to be rewarded in an important way by his team. Now he has both and he is happy as well.”
A direct and skilful player, Insigne scored 18 times in Serie A last season, while he provided nine assists and created 66 chances overall.
Having guided Chelsea to the Premier League title in his first campaign in charge of the club, Conte is determined to improve his squad even further and there could be a considerable amount of changes at the club this summer.
Striker Diego Costa looks likely to depart, while there could be several arrivals at Stamford Bridge, with Insigne just one of the club’s reported targets.
