Inter Milan technical director Walter Sabatini has provided an update on Manchester United target Ivan Perisic by insisting “the right offer has not yet arrived”.
The Croatian winger has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford for the majority of the summer, but the Red Devils so far haven’t been willing to meet the €55m (£49m) asking price set by the Nerazzurri.
United manager Jose Mourinho admitted following a 2-1 pre-season win over Real Salt Lake earlier in the week that he was in the dark as to where they stood in terms of completing a deal for the 28-year-old.
However, Perisic’s inclusion in the Serie A outfit’s squad for their pre-season tour to China means any potential deal is now in doubt and the club’s technical director has suggested they’re awaiting for a suitable offer to be lodged.
“You all know what we want,” Sabatini told Sky Italy, as reported by Football Italia.
“The right offer has not yet arrived.”
An out-and-out winger, though capable of playing as an attacking midfielder, Perisic has three years left on his present deal at the San Siro after joining the Inter from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2015 and has gone on to make 79 appearances registering 20 goals and 18 assists in the process.
