Ceballos ‘in dialogue’ to make Gunners switch permanent

On-loan Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos has reportedly held talks with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez about making a permanent move. The 23-year-old penned a season-long deal with the Gunners in the summer and has enjoyed an excellent start to his stint in north London, with one goal from 10 appearances in all competitions.
That came in the Europa League against Standard Liege, while he has impressed in eight Premier League outings to date.
The Spain international’s deal does not include an option to buy, with Bernabeu officials expecting the talented schemer to head back to the capital at the conclusion of his loan.
However, according to El Desmarque, Ceballos met with Perez during the international break to discuss his options, with rumours that he wants to make the switch permanent during the January transfer window.
It remains to be seen if Real are willing to play ball as the former Real Betis ace is highly-rated at the club – despite not being a regular starter in the Real midfield.
The Spanish giants paid Betis 14million euros for the player and it is thought they will not let him depart for anything less than three times that amount.
Whether that is in Arsenal’s budget is open to debate, with the report also stating the north Londoners are only willing to fork out 35million euros for their loan star.
If he continues to shine then they may be happy to go the extra mile to land their man and keep up a top-four challenge.
