Rummenigge hails Coutinho move

Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is very happy with Philippe Coutinho’s displays but says there has been no talk about a permanent deal. Coutinho penned a season-long loan deal with the Bavarians in the summer after failing to shine during 18 months at Barcelona.
The Brazil international has scored two Bundesliga giants from seven appearances to date, and impressed all with his attitude and class in his new surroundings.
The South American’s failure at the Nou Camp was surprising given his desire to quit Liverpool for the La Liga giants in January 2018 and it may be that he returns a better player and enjoys a lengthy stay with the Catalans.
For now though, he is plying his trade at the Allianz Arena and Rummenigge could not be happier. “Philippe is a high-quality player,” he told Kicker. “Philippe has no star attitudes. He is a very pleasant person and he is very popular throughout the club. We are very satisfied with the transfer.”
Bayern have the option to purchase Coutinho on a permanent deal at the end of the season for £120m but it seems as though any decision about the former Inter star will be delayed until an appropriate juncture in the campaign. “We will decide about that when the right point in time has arrived,” added Rummenigge.
Next up for Coutinho and his team-mates is return to Champions League action on Tuesday evening when Bayern take their perfect record this term to Karaiskakis Stadium to face Greek side Olympiacos.
