Top duo confirmed for HK Open

Francesco Molinari and Patrick Reed have been confirmed to play in the upcoming Hong Kong Open – the first event of the 2020 European Tour. While there are still five tournaments remaining in the 2019 edition, players are already finalising their schedules for next term and the major-winning duo will play in the former British colony. The DP World Tour Championship will conclude the 2019 Race to Dubai, with the winner set to be crowned on November 24, but the new campaign kicks off just a few days later at Hong Kong Golf Club. Molinari is in the line-up and the Italian, who will play in the event for the first time in a decade, is hoping to take the title after missing out in a play-off back in 2008. “I have good memories from the Hong Kong Open and it’s certainly the goal to go one better this time around,” said the 2018 Open champion. “It will be a great way to kick off my 2020 Race to Dubai campaign.” USA star Reed is no stranger to the European Tour, or the Hong Kong Open, and will be making his fourth appearance in the Far East tournament. “It’s great coming back to play the Hong Kong Open for another year,” he said. “The European Tour truly allows us to be global players and this event in Hong Kong is another opportunity for us to showcase what we can do around the world.”
