Lewis Hamilton feels the nature of the Mexican Grand Prix layout means Mercedes will be at a disadvantage, with Ferrari the favourites. Mercedes have already wrapped up the Formula 1 constructors’ title and Hamilton could claim a sixth drivers’ title at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. The British flyer is 64 points clear of team-mate Valtteri Bottas and it is now just a matter of when and not if he takes yet another F1 crown. However, the 34-year-old is far from convinced he will be able to take the chequered flag on Sunday and believes the Italian marque will be the team to beat at the weekend. “I think Mexico is generally our worst race of the year because of the way our car is set up and it’s going to be a tough one for us,” he said. “The last few have been pretty shocking, even though we’ve won the title there. “I’m hoping for a better weekend but I think it’s going to be very hard to beat the Ferraris with those long straights. We have no hope of getting by on those straights, that’s for sure.” Hamilton has won nine grands prix in 2019, while Ferrari duo Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel have two and one respectively.
