Cook reaffirms commitment to Cherries

Lewis Cook says he has no intention of leaving Bournemouth anytime soon despite reported interest from Liverpool and Chelsea. England international Cook was one of the star performers for Bournemouth during the first-half of last season, but he suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury during a game against Huddersfield at the start of December that ruled him out for the rest of the season.
Indeed, the former Leeds youngster did not return to the first-team fold at the Vitality Stadium until September this year, but he has since featured four times in the Premier League, including starts against Everton and Norwich.
Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has been keen to ease Cook back into first-team action gradually, as he does not want the 22-year-old to suffer any setbacks.
Cook has certainly looked impressive in the games he has featured in since returning from injury and his form has not gone unnoticed by the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea, who have both been accredited with an interest in his services.
However, the midfielder has been quick to play down the speculation linking him with a move to one of the big hitters in the Premier League, as he insists he is fully committed to the Bournemouth cause. “I have just started playing football here,” he told the Bournemouth Echo. “I had been out for a long time, so I am just focusing on Bournemouth at the moment. “You’ve just got to focus on your football here and keep enjoying it. I am obviously enjoying playing football again – that’s all I am focusing on right now. “Yeah, definitely. [fully committed to Bournemouth] I am enjoying my football here, it’s a great place to be and play great football.”
Cook will be hoping to make back-to-back starts in the Premier League for the first time since returning from injury when Bournemouth travel to Vicarage Road to take on bottom-club Watford on Saturday.
