New Hull FC winger Adam Swift says he has a point to prove after dropping down the pecking order at former club St Helens. He has signed a two-year deal at the KCOM Stadium after growing frustrated in the last 12 months. Swift had spent his entire career at St Helens, making over 130 appearances since making his debut in 2012. Loan spells at Sheffield Eagles and Leigh Centurions allowed him to get some game time although he played less than five matches for both Championship clubs. Swift scored 86 tries during his Saints days but failed to dislodge Regan Grace and Tommy Makinson from the first team. He now has a new challenge ahead of him at Hull FC and the 26-year-old admits he cannot wait to get going under coach Lee Radford. “I do feel that I’m as good as them given the game time,” he told Hull Live. “If I can get some back-to-back performances in and fitness going again, I’ve proved it in the past that I’m a good enough player and I’m good enough to be in the winning side. “I’ve got a point to prove. I’ve heard people saying I’m going under the radar, which is quite good. But I’m just buzzing to have a new challenge ahead of me. “It’s been like that for the last two-and-a-half years for me, missing out on game time. Any winger is going to struggle when they have the golden boot winner in the side with Tommy Makinson, he’s been unbelievable the last two or three years, and Regan Grace has come into the team and been absolutely flying, and he’s arguably had his best season. “At the end of the day, you’re paid to play rugby and I’ve not really been doing that. I’ve played games here and there when the other lads have been rested, but I’ve not been able to get my game fitness up to where I’d like it to be. It’s been frustrating.”
