Watford v Bournemouth team news

Daryl Janmaat is fit for Watford’s Premier League home game against Bournemouth on Saturday but Jose Holebas misses out through suspension. The 35-year-old Greek defender Holebas will not be in Quique Sanchez Flores’ team after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season in Watford’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur last Saturday, which incurs an automatic one-match ban.
Flores has declared that three players who were injury doubts for this weekend – Etienne Capoue, Sebastian Prodl and Isaac Success – are recovering and one or all of them may be able to face the Cherries.
The Spaniard said: “They are training, they came from some injuries, so little by little, training day by day. Just checking at the moment, really could be [available], so we need to wait a little bit more.”
Flores confirmed the bad news about striker Danny Welbeck, who limped of early in last Saturday’s draw with Spurs, admitting the ex-England international will be out “for a long time.”
Troy Deeney is recovering well but not yet ready to return because he has only just started running under the watchful eye of the physios and hasn’t joined in a full training session yet.
Jefferson Lerma, who missed Bournemouth’s 0-0 draw with Norwich six days ago after picking up a minor hip injury on international duty with Colombia, is expected to be in contention for the Cherries.
Manager Eddie Howe confirmed the midfielder resumed training with the rest of the senior squad this week and could return for the trip to Vicarage Road.
Howe reported no fresh injury concerns following last weekends tight affair at Carrow Road although David Brooks, Dan Gosling and Junior Stanislas still aren’t ready to return.
Howe said: “Junior is further away. He’s not back on the grass yet. Dan Gosling is in a similar position to David Brooks. He is on the grass but not with us, so he’s still some time away.”
Aaron Ramsdale, who this week signed a new long-term contract and has started all nine of Bournemouth’s Premier League matches this season, will continue in goal.
