Aston Villa ace Grealish sets his sights on England

Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish says he will do all he can to get himself into the England squad before the European Championship. The 24-year-old has featured in all nine games in the Premier League this season, helping Villa climb into mid-table.
He has scored two goals so far during the current campaign and continues to excel in the number 10 role behind striker Wesley Moraes.
Grealish decided to stay at Villa Park in summer 2018 – despite the club’s failure to get promoted – and is now reaping the rewards as Villa try to avoid the drop after going up 12 months later.
The Birmingham-born midfielder represented the Republic of Ireland until 2014 and then made seven appearances for England’s Under-21s between 2016 and 2017.
Grealish admits he has enjoyed a “crazy” few months and is now looking to make his mark for the Three Lions, with manager Gareth Southgate watching his every move. “As soon as I got to grips with the Premier League, I feel I have been performing much better,” he told BBC Sport. “Personally, I want to get myself into the England team and finish with as many goals and assists as possible. “It has been a crazy six, seven months. I try and help everyone in the dressing room but we have an experienced team. It is like we have 11 captains in there and it helped me. That little bit of responsibility makes me want to perform better.”
Grealish will be expected to lead Villa out on Saturday when Dean Smith’s men travel to the Etihad Stadium to take on Manchester City.
The West Midlands outfit have won three of their last four matches to climb the table although their last win at the home of the champions came back in 2007.
