Corini encouraged by Balotelli impact

Brescia boss Eugenio Corini says he has been pleased by Mario Balotelli’s impact since the former Manchester City star arrived at the club. Italy international Balotelli was a big-name arrival at home-town club Brescia during the summer and he has scored one goal in his three Serie A appearances to date, with that sole strike coming in the recent 2-1 loss at Napoli.
However, Corini has been impressed by what he has seen from the 29-year-old during his time at the Stadio Mario Rigamonti to date, with his performance in last weekend’s goalless draw with Fiorentina particularly catching the eye. “We took home a point, now we arrive in Genoa with the right condition. I saw a lot of involvement from Balotelli. I work with him individually, like I do with all the lads,” Corini told reporters.
Brescia will now head into Saturday’s away clash with Genoa sitting 15th in the standings, a point above the relegation zone – a reasonable return for a side that were only promoted back to the top flight last season.
Genoa are one of the sides sitting below Brescia in the table and they will have a new man in the dugout for Saturday’s clash at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, with Thiago Motta having replaced Aurelio Andreazzoli as manager.
Corini feels the change in manager will make Saturday’s contest even more difficult for his side. “The change of Coach is one more difficulty for us. We’ve read that something could change,” the former Chievo star added.
