Bayern reject Muller exit talk

Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic says Thomas Muller is going nowhere, contrary to recent reports. Muller has been on the fringes of the first team this season with the Bundesliga champions, having only started four matches in the league this season.
He has made 13 appearances in all competitions this season and only registered one goal – an added-time third goal to seal a 3-0 win against Red Star Belgrade in their opening Champions League match of the season.
Despite being a key player in all their success over the past decade, including a Champions League triumph against league rivals Borussia Dortmund in 2013, the emergence of Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman has pushed him further down the pecking order.
Reports over the weekend have suggested Manchester United might be interested in doing a deal for the 30-year-old in January, who is reportedly understood to be unhappy at his lack of game time at the Allianz Arena.
However, Salihamidzic has stated the reports are nonsense and they cannot afford to have a lack of numbers in their squad. “We have two long-term injuries, and you’re trying to convince us that we’re giving someone up. This is a novel you write all the time,” he said. “We are not thinking about the players we should give up but looking to bring the team back to running again and playing stable football.”
Muller has been with Bayern Munich all his career after making his senior debut back in 2008.
He has gone on to make 498 appearances in an illustrious career, scoring 186 goals.
Muller has also shone for the Germany national side, winning the World Cup in 2014 with Die Mannschaft and collecting the Golden Boot four years earlier.
