Burton Albion v Leicester City team news

Burton have a mighty challenge on their hands as they prepare to welcome Leicester City to the Pirelli Stadium on Tuesday. Both teams are potentially 90 minutes away from the Carabao Cup quarter-finals and therefore another step closer to a day out at Wembley.
Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester go into this encounter off the back of a 9-0 thrashing of Southampton at St Mary’s in the Premier League.
Everything that could have gone right, did go right for the Foxes as they embarrassed the Saints on the south coast.
There appears to have been no injuries to come from the Southampton trip although manager Rodgers could look to shuffle his pack for the trip to League One outfit Burton.
The likes of Wes Morgan, Demarai Gray and Marc Albrighton all started the Saints game on the bench and they could be given a chance to impress from the start on Tuesday night.
Leicester suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to League Two side Newport County in the FA Cup last season and will be hoping they learned from that humbling defeat against a club divisions below them.
As for Burton, they have excellent cup pedigree over recent seasons and have not been short of a few giant killings along the way.
Aston Villa, Burnley, Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough all fell to the Brewers as they reached the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup last season.
Premier League side Bournemouth were Burton’s latest victims in the third round of the competition this season.
Nigel Clough’s side go into Tuesday’s encounter on the back of a goalless draw against Blackpool at the weekend, in a result that leaves Burton in 13th place in League One.
Burton don’t appear to have any fresh injury concerns ahead of the arrival of the high-flying Foxes, as they look to add another giant to their lengthy list of scalps.
They Brewers will be without playmaker Lucas Akins who will miss the match due to suspension, with Liam Boyce set to fill the void.
