Sarri content with Juve progress

Maurizio Sarri says he feels his Juventus squad have adapted well to his methods since his arrival at the Italian champions over the summer from Chelsea. Having replaced the successful Massimiliano Allegri at the Serie A giants, the club sit in their familiar position at the top of the table under Sarri after nine games with a one-point lead over Inter Milan.
Juve was frustrated last time out in a 1-1 draw with Lecce but the Old Lady remain undefeated in the Serie A so far this term.
Speaking ahead of their encounter with Genoa on Wednesday, Sarri has praised his squad for adapting to his new regime and feels the side are moving in the right direction, although there is more work to be done. “It (the team) is doing quite well, they have adapted to a new way of playing, there are so many nuances to perfect but that is normal,” he told reporters. “We still have potential to express ourselves more and good room for improvement. We have taken the right path knowing that there is still a lot to work ahead of us.”
Star forward Cristiano Ronaldo was rested for Juve’s stalemate with newly-promoted Lecce and is expected to return on Wednesday against Genoa.
Fellow forward Gonzalo Higuain suffered a blow last time out but has trained since and is also likely to feature in the upcoming midweek encounter, against a Genoa side in 17th place in the Serie A table with just two wins from nine games.
