Teal looking forward to Kenzai warrior run

Trainer Roger Teal says he is looking forward to seeing Kenzai Warrior run in the Horris Hill Stakes. The Group Three race was initially due to take place last weekend at Newbury although heavy rain meant the card was postponed. However, officials have moved quickly to save the race and it will now take place at Newmarket on Saturday. The two-year-old was impressive on his racecourse debut in September as he won the Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Novice Stakes at Salisbury. Now, ahead of the Newmarket event, Teal says the son of Karakontie has big potential and can win if all goes well. “Newbury would have been closer to home and Newmarket is obviously a different track. Like any horse, he’s got to prove the handles the undulations but he is quite a well-balanced horse, so hopefully he’ll be fine,” the Hungerford-based trainer said. “I’m hoping he’ll run a good race. I think there’s a bit more rain forecast, so the ground will be on the soft side and that is the unknown, but he has an action that suggests he’ll appreciate it. “If he handles the track and ground, I hope he’ll run well as he’s a seriously nice horse and we like him a lot.”
