Hamilton cautious over title

Mercedes racer Lewis Hamilton says he will enter the US Grand Prix with a normal mind set, despite edging towards the title. The Briton will win his sixth championship if he finishes at least eighth at Sunday’s US Grand Prix. He will also secure the title if team-mate Valtteri Bottas fails to win the race. The 34-year-old Briton had a disappointing day on Saturday as he only managed to qualify fifth while Bottas will start the race on pole. Despite what is potentially at stake in Texas, Hamilton insists he is heading into the race with a calm head. “I don’t look at this race as particularly important,” said the five-time world champion. “It’s as important as any other race to me. It’s not a stand out individual important race to me. “There’s still two more after this. I approach it the same, not looking to pull out miracles. “Things happen for a reason and [qualifying] is a lesson learned and I’ll try to see if I can turn a negative into a positive.”
