Allegri seems to tick all the boxes for Bayern

Bayern Munich are on the look-out for a new head coach and former Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri could be the ideal man to fill the hot seat. The Bavarians have taken the decision to part company with Niko Kovac following a disappoint start to the season that has seen them slip to fourth in the Bundesliga standings, and the 5-1 defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt was the final straw.
There has also been talk of unrest in the dressing room, particularly with Thomas Muller and it looks as though the right decision has been made for all parties.
Now the hunt is on to replace him and there will be no shortage of top names in the frame for one of the top jobs in European football.
The first that springs to mind is that of Allegri, who has already been linked with position at the Allianz Arena and would be a great appointment.
The Italian has been out of work since Juve’s brave decision to move him on at the end of last season and he has all the credentials to get Bayern back on track.
Allegri knows what it is like to dominate a league, just like he did with Juventus when winning five Serie A titles on the bounce, and would be the man to keep Bayern at the top in the Bundesliga.
His downfall at Juve was arguably his failure to win the Champions League, but he did get the Bianconeri to two finals in 2014/15 and 2016/17, and Bayern would certainly take that considering their performances in Europe’s elite competition in recent seasons.
They have struggled to make the latter stages and an appearance in the semi-finals for example would be seen as a huge step forward this season.
The former AC Milan boss would also earn immediate respect from the dressing room and that is what Bayern are in need of right now. He has dealt with big stars and big egos during his time at Juve and would have no problem doing the same with Bayern.
Allegri’s style of football may not be on a par with that of former Bayern boss Pep Guardiola and is another reason Juve made the change to go with the more flamboyant Maurizio Sarri.
Even so, if it is winning football, there will not be too many complaints coming for the stands at the Allianz Arena.
Jose Mourinho and Mauricio Pochettino are other names in the frame, but Bayern would not go too far wrong by making a quick appointment and getting Allegri on board asap.
